The Dead Poet is a concept by singer songwriter Spencer Wilson. The lyrics of his songs are arrived at through simple melodies and simple chord structures, emerging from an emotive second voice in the vast abyss of the mind. Connecting unprocessed thoughts to contemporary surroundings and nostalgic past, The Dead Poet drives words from mind to pen, like Sirens luring sailors and their ships to crash upon rocky coast. Spencer is a keen supporter of Platform 1, the mens crisis mental health charity based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
